Processos de combustió sense flama (smouldering)
Smouldering és una forma de combustió lenta, sense flama, que es produeix per la reacció superficial exotèrmica entre el combustible sòlid i l'oxigen. Aquest tipus de combustió és característic de materials porosos, amb gran superficie específica, i s'observa freqüentment en materials cel·lulòsics.
En particular, es treballa en l’anàlisi i millora del smouldering que es produeix en materials aïllants tèrmics, formulats a base de productes lignocel·lulòsics, com la medul·la vegetal.
