María del Pilar Giraldo Forero

PhD in Architecture at UPC, with the thesis "Assessment of the behavior of fires and protection against fires in different types of façades".

Researcher in the Catalan Institute of Wood INCAFUST - CTFC.

Associate lecturer, she teaches at the Master's in MBArch, at the School of Architecture of Barcelona - ETSAB at the UPC. She is also a professor of the Master's Degree in Fire Safety Engineering at the UPC School - BarcelonaTech.

She has participated in different projects related to wood construction systems and sustainable construction, with special interest in the use of bio-materials and wood products. She is specialized in issues related to the spread of fire.
