Radiator test booth according to UNE 23721-90

Example image

The test consists of subjecting the samples to the radiation of a constant heat source causing the ignition of the released gases and the spread of combustion. Ignition times, flame lengths and variations in the thermal equilibrium of the test chamber are measured.

The equipment consists of a test chamber, a radiator with a nominal power of 500W, a test sample holder composed of a rectangular iron frame open at the top with a mark or reference points that allow measuring the lengths of the flames, two mobile ignition devices powered by butane or propane gas, a device for measuring the temperature difference between the gas outlet and the air inlet made up of thermocouples and an extraction system that has NOT to be in operation during the test but it is necessary to start it once finished to facilitate the extraction of smoke.
