The Fire Laboratory participates in the 72nd Technical Conference on passive fire protection and its maintenance

The Association of Maintenance Managers (AGEM) gathered at the School on the afternoon of October 10th maintenance management professionals to discuss the challenges they encounter in the maintenance of passive fire protection in buildings that they manage. The EPSEB Fire Lab participated.
On the afternoon of Thursday, October 10, AGEM gathered its associates in the Degree room of the EPSEB to talk about passive fire protection and its maintenance. The technical conference had the participation of the teachers Laia Haurie, Ana Maria Lacasta and Alina Avellaneda who in the Fire Lab showed some tests of the reaction to fire of materials on a laboratory scale and examples of simulation of the spread of fires and evacuation of buildings. They also participated in the conference:
- Carles Noguera, Deputy Inspector of the Barcelona Fire Brigade and Head of the Prevention Area of the General Directorate of Prevention, Fire Extinguishing and Rescue, who spoke about the importance of sectorisation.
- Mariano de Leonardo, CEO of Kosmos Group and President of the Fire Safety Cluster, who presented the maintenance guide for passive fire protection systems.
- Jose M. Blanco, Head of the Infrastructure and Maintenance Unit at Hospital Germans Trias i Pujol, who explained the effects of the fire that they suffered at the Hospital in 2007.
