Flame speed test equipment according to UNE 23724-90

Example image

The test consists of subjecting the test samples to the action of a heat source (Bunsen burner) and causing the inflammation of the sample as well as the flame propagation effect. During the test, note is taken of the duration of flame persistence, which allows the rate of propagation to be calculated, and the drop of ignited or non-ignited drops is observed once the Bunsen burner is removed.

The equipment consists of a vertical support, a horizontal bar and a clamp system mounted on the previously described supports and with the possibility of being adjustable in height. The equipment is placed inside a hood, without drafts, with a ventilation system that must NOT be in operation during the test, but DO need to be turned on after completion to facilitate the 'extraction of smoke.
